I’d heard mosquitoes aren’t really attracted to UV light alone so I was worried. But with the free mosquito attractants I got, it WORKS AMAZING. It worked so well we bought 3 more for the front and the back yard.

3 Quick Steps for Permanent Protection

Stake It

Stake It

Push it into the ground anywhere bugs bother you — patio, grill, fire pit. No wires, no outlet, 30 seconds.

Let It Charge

Let It Charge

The solar panel keeps it charged on its own. Cloudy stretch? Top it off with the included USB-C cable.

Watch it Work

Watch it Work

A sensor turns it on at dusk and off at dawn. Nothing to plug in, empty, or babysit.

How GroundGuard Actually Works

Check an old hanging zapper and you'll find a tray full of moths — while your ankles are still covered in bites. So you figure zappers just don't work on mosquitoes. And you're right, but not for the reason you think.

Mosquitoes are weak flyers — barely km/h, grounded by the slightest breeze — so they hunt low, within 60cm off the ground. And it's your feet they're after: they target the bacteria down there, and the scent is like catnip to them. That's why most of your bites land on your legs and ankles.

A zapper up in the air never had a chance. GroundGuard stands right in the mosquito flight path — the bugs that used to feast on you fly straight into it instead.

What Customers Ask Before Their First Order

How much area does it cover? +

One Sentinel covers up to 195m² — plenty for most patios, decks, or pool areas.

  • 1 Sentinel — up to 195m²
  • 2 Sentinels — up to 390m²
  • 3 Sentinels — up to 585m²

Most customers grab two — one for the patio, one further out in the yard — to cover the whole space with no gaps (and save $149.95). Bigger property? Three wraps it in a perimeter so nothing gets through.

What bugs does it kill? +

GroundGuard Sentinel eliminates all the bugs that ruin your outdoor time

  • Mosquitoes
  • Gnats & no-see-ums
  • Flies
  • Wasps & hornets
  • Moths
  • Other flying insects

No sprays. No candles. No swatting.

Does it work during the day too? +

The UV light is most effective after dark when it's visible to insects. During daylight, bugs are less attracted to UV light. GroundGuard is designed for evening and nighttime protection, which is when mosquitoes are most active.

Is it even strong enough if it’s solar-powered? +

Yes. The panel recharges the built-in battery by day, and at night the zapper runs off that stored power through a 4,500V grid — enough to drop mosquitoes, flies, moths and the rest on contact. If your yard's shaded or you hit a cloudy stretch, every unit includes a USB-C cable to top it off, so it never depends on perfect sun.

How long does it run on a charge? +

A full charge runs it about 8-10 hours — dusk straight through to early morning. The light sensor flips it on at dusk and off at dawn, so it only draws power when it's actually dark. No switches, no timers, no babysitting.

Is it loud? Will it buzz all night? +

No constant hum. You'll hear a faint click each time it catches a bug, but there's no buzzing bulb or motor. Staked a few feet out in the yard, most owners stop noticing it after the first night.

Can I leave it outside in the rain? +

Yes — it's built to live outside through rain and storms; the housing is weather-sealed. Most owners bring it in over the winter off-season to preserve the battery, but it handles the elements all season while it's out.

Does it need cleaning? +

Barely. There's no tray to empty — caught bugs fall away on their own. When the grid starts looking gunked up, just hose it off and you're done.

I'll probably come back and order later. +

Most customers say that too. Then mosquito season peaks and they wish they'd started sooner. Every night without GroundGuard is another evening spent inside or covered in bites. Our 60-day guarantee means there's zero risk in starting now — but there's a real cost in waiting.

Customer photo review of GroundGuard Sentinel — Solar Bug Zapper

This thing has worked perfect so far. I love the fact that it's solar therefore we don't have to plug it in. We don't have to use no batteries or anything. It has a couple switches on it. The first one is so you can leave it on at all times and then the second one is so that it will only come on at night time that's the setting that we use. Our bug light definitely kills bugs. I do see like small wasp in here flies mosquitoes everything. It was actually very easy to set up. All we had to do was...

We lost power in our back patio so we needed a different solution ended up buying the solar panel bug zapper and it's been great. You can tell from the photos that it has caught a lot of outside pests lol

But, customer service contacted me to make it right and replaced my original zapper with a working one. I haven't had issues with my second zapper. It works great!

Customer photo review of GroundGuard Sentinel — Solar Bug Zapper

I just received the bug zapper today. I didn't have enough time to charge it with the solar so I charged it with the c cable. I would have to say it works. I had it on about an hour and this is what I walked outside to. A lot of them were stuck to the screen. I knocked them off so I can clean it. It is very satisfying to hear the pops and the moths actually sizzle. I'm camping so there are tons of annoying bugs

Absolutely! Here's a 4-star review for the Newly Upgraded Large Solar Bug Zapper: We recently upgraded to this large solar bug zapper for our camping trip at the fairgrounds, and overall, we're very pleased with it. The bigger lamp effectively attracts mosquitoes, flies, moths, and fruit flies in a full 360° range, which definitely helps keep the area bug-free. The 4500V high-powered electrical grid does a great job of zapping pests immediately, and the expanded range really makes a difference...

This product here. I have no words. Video speaks for itself. I was sparking with joy hearing the bugs short circuiting sparking with gusto. I felt like I was waiting for my popcorn to be ready to eat. Would recommend to friends and family too.

Customer photo review of GroundGuard Sentinel — Solar Bug Zapper

This solar-powered bug zapper is easy to set up, runs entirely on sunlight, and makes a big difference in keeping bugs away from the immediate area. It charges well during the day and lasts through the night, attracting and zapping mosquitoes, moths, and other pests without the need for cords or batteries. Cleanup is quick and simple, and while it won't clear your whole yard, it's perfect for patios, porches, or any small outdoor space where you want fewer bugs.

Customer photo review of GroundGuard Sentinel — Solar Bug Zapper

Got this to get rid of bugs and i feel it works well. I've used the solar panels 100% of the time to recharge it and battery life easily last all night. Very easy to assemble and size is perfect to sit about anywhere. I have the feet stuck between boards in my deck. When it's on at night it's zapping away plenty of bugs so little noise is to be expected. I bought 2 of them very happy how they work.

This thing works!! So nice to not have to run an electrical cord to kill bugs. Just bought a second one for another part of the yard. Check out the photo. I have it on a deck box at the moment and poor froggy went for an easy meal. R.I.P. froggy

Work like a champ - you cant have enough for outdoors though. I use 3 for a normal size back yard. I just set them to come on at night time - all three fire up automatically within a minute of one another. I got up at 3 AM and they were still crackling

This was a great buy for my patio. I love when you get a good product that is operated by solar, as some time they tend to be week in lighting or over all power. Not this thing! I have now recommended this product to ALL my family and friends, and I have now purchased two more!

Customer photo review of GroundGuard Sentinel — Solar Bug Zapper

I only had this hooked up one day and so far I like it you can actually see the spark at night of the bugs being zapped. It's pretty neat. I like the fact that it's solar power and you don't have to have a cord ran into it so you can have it different places around the yard.

Customer photo review of GroundGuard Sentinel — Solar Bug Zapper

I wanted a bug zapper for the backyard because every time the sliding door is opened into the backyard, mosquittos & large flies come in the house, not to mention, the kids get bit when playing outside. It is very easy to use. Just had to assemble the stands. Not complicated. And pushed easily into the dirt. It was smaller than I thought it would be, but still works. We did plug it in the first day to be sure it would charge fully, as we wanted to use it that night.

Customer photo review of GroundGuard Sentinel — Solar Bug Zapper

This bug zapper really works and made hanging outside so much better! We were watching fireworks and relaxing in the garage, and we could hear the little pop pop as it zapped away bugs — it definitely kept a lot of them away from us. I love that it's solar powered and rechargeable, so I don't have to worry about plugging it in all the time. It's also super versatile — you can place it on a table, hang it from a tree, or stake it into the ground.

Customer photo review of GroundGuard Sentinel — Solar Bug Zapper

I live near water, so mosquitos are always a problem every year. I have tried many things and was skeptical on how well this would work, but it came in yesterday and already put a dent in the local mosquito swarm on the first night. If I had the money, I would buy 10 more and have a mosquito barrier. 100/10 rating

Fantastic idea - wonder why someone had not thought of this earlier to use a detachable solar power panel for a bug zapper; an optional, long extension cord is included, as well as a chain which can be used to suspend the solar panel. This zapper can also be charged up via a USB cable if sunshine is not available. It can also be mounted on two stakes. All these permutations make it very versatile.

It's smaller than I thought it would be, but it's very effective. it's about the size of a quarter cookie sheet. I put a beer can in the first pic for a size reference. Every time I hear it pop, it makes me a little happy.

These have gone above and beyond and met our expectations! We have a pool and a creek in our backyard and the mosquitoes are horrendous. We bought two of these and they have cut down on the mosquitoes! We are actually able to sit out on our deck and enjoy it! Highly recommend!

Customer photo review of GroundGuard Sentinel — Solar Bug Zapper

When I say this solar bug zapper made our outdoor evenings better—I mean it! I keep it charging in the sunny front yard during the day, and when it's time to fire up the grill, I carry it over to the back patio where my rose and lily beds are in full bloom. The soft blue glow does more than just look good—it pulls in mosquitos like a magnet, so we can actually sit and eat without the constant swatting.

GroundGuard Sentinel — Solar Bug Zapper

Customer photo review of GroundGuard Sentinel — Solar Bug Zapper

I ordered this with the thought of controlling flying insects in the garden especially at night. I was impressed enough with it after a few days I ordered a second one. I clean the zapper wire screen every second day. I keep them both on auto which turns them on at dark and off at dawn and allows them to solar charge all day. Zero problems with either one. Cost is very low for what you get in bug killing returns. Our garden area is approx. 65' X 110'. Highly recommend.

Customer photo review of GroundGuard Sentinel — Solar Bug Zapper

This thing works great! Charges all day, comes on at dusk and stays on all night. I live in an rv park. And then has been a game changer for my rv lot. Fully waterproof, I leave it out all the time. Helps reduce insects and bugs while sitting out at night.

GroundGuard Sentinel — Solar Bug Zapper

This zapper has greatly reduced the insects in our backyard this year. No biting flies, or other annoying summer pests. Some nights it is a fun fireworks show!

GroundGuard Sentinel — Solar Bug Zapper

Set this bug zapper up and you won't need to lift a finger except to clean it occasionally. The light is very effective at attracting regular old houseflies, and then they get zapped. This bug zapper is silent otherwise, and with the solar panel you can put it anywhere the sun shines.

GroundGuard Sentinel — Solar Bug Zapper

This big zapper is AMAZING. It catches so many unwanted pests around our bonfire pit. We love it. I will be buying another one for our front porch area also.

GroundGuard Sentinel — Solar Bug Zapper

Works very well. I bought two: one I have hanging from a coach light and plugged into the wall outlet using the USB-C connector, the other powered by the solar panel and in the yard set to turn on after dark. It comes with a brush to clean the grill. I am very pleased with this purchase, the items work as advertised.

GroundGuard Sentinel — Solar Bug Zapper

I found a way to control mosquitos on my deck. I love it so much that I ordered another one for my son who lives in Florida. In fact, I am thinking of getting another one for my daughter in Philly. If you are in need of mosquito control, this item is a must.
